Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma of B-cell Lineage associated with Peculiar Eosinophilia : A Case Report

Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of B-cell lineage is a relatively common lesion in the head and neck as well as other parts of the body^<1)>. There are only a few previous reports, however, of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of B-cell lineage associated with eosinophilia, although eosinophilia is commonly observed in non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of T-cell origin and in Hodgkin's lymphoma^<2-6)>. One previous report of B-cell lymphoma presented a case with marked eosinophilia in the peripheral blood but without eosinophil infiltration to the neoplastic tissues^<2)>. Other cases of B-cell lymphoma were followed by eosinophilia in the tumor per se, but did not show any follicular formation^<6)>. We report a unique case of follicular lymphoma, in which eosinophil infiltration was restricted only to the two lymph nodes affected by malignant lymphoma.
