ESR Line Shape in the Incommensurate Phase of K_2SeO_4 Crystal Doped with VO^<2+> Ions

The temperature dependence of ESR spectra of VO^<2+> ions has been studied in the incommensurate phase of K_2SeO_4. crystal. The line shape with asymmetric edge-singularities was analysed in terms of an incommensurate spatial modulation of the hyperfine tensor. By using the plane wave modulation model, a very good fit between the experimerntal and theoretical line shapes was obtained in the temperature range from T_I to ≃T_C+10 K. The temperature dependence of the amplitude of the incommensurate modulation reveals that the index β for the amplitude is 0.48±0.05 in this temperature range.
