ESR spectra of NHf and Sea.- radicals in 7-irradiated [(NH.).-,R.1250.crystals (R=Rb, Cs) resolving about 4 mo].% Sea. were analysed. The intensityof the spectral lines for NHf(/?) was nearly equal to that for NHf(a) in all themixed crystals [(MH,0)-.Rb,]zS0,( examined (.x=0.09 -0.75). This fact indicatesthat the preferential replacement of R' ion to the NHf(/7) ion which has beenobserved in [(NH.)j=.K.]zS0., was not occurred in [(NH.).=,Rb,].S0.. For[(NH.)j -,CS.]2S0. with larger ,v, a trend that the NHJ (<x) iori was rather easilyreplaced by Cs" ton, was observed. This result could be explained reasonably byconsiderig the mean distance from the nearest oxygens surrounding each NH,fJon. The analysis of Se03 radical revealed that 50.1' - ion might be deformedbelow T. impling that SO.; - ton is responsible for a part of spontaneous polariza-lion in ammonium sulfate and the mixed crystals.
