The Fraunhofer diffraction method, proposed as a new means of measuring the plasma wave and/or turbulence, is verified in the microwave region by its application to the measurement of plasma waves in low-pressure d.c. discharge. The superiority of this technique over the conventional scattering and the significance of its application in the microwave region are also described.
