High-T_c Superconducting Film on Silicon Substrate with ZrO_2 Buffer Layer : Electrical Properties of Condensed Matter

A screen-printed YBa_2Cu_3O_<7-x> superconducting film with T_<c,zero>=85 K has been fabricated on a ZrO_2-coated silicon substrate made by the sol-gel technique. The ZrO_2 buffer layer effectively protects the superconducting film from the interfacial reaction between the Y-Ba-Cu-O film and the Si substrate during the firing process.
