Corona charging characteristics of a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and tetrafuoroethylene, poly(VDF-TFE), were investigated by electrophotographic measurements. A difference in the charging characteristics was found between poled and unpoled films. This was interpreted by dipole rotation which induces change in the bulk conductivity. By analysis of the voltage-current relationship and current-temperature relationship, it was concluded that the Richardson-Schottky process was dominant in the high field. Data on corona charging characteristics with different electrode configurations indicate the primary importance of hole injection from the electrode into the film. The corona charging characteristics of poly(VDF-TFE) film was shown to be controlled by changing the electrode materials.
