An all-solid state electrochromic display (ECD) cell consisting of lutetium diphthalocyanine (HLuPc_2) was constructed using PbF_2 as the solid electrolyte. The LCD cell having a structure, ITO/HLuPc_2/PbF_2/Au quickly changed its color from original green to orange when a positive voltage of 1-2 V was applied to the ITO electrode. The response time was less than 100 ms and the electrochromic reaction repeated well up to 10^5 times.
