Studies on cytochromes in photosynthetic electron transport system II. Participation of photosystem I in the light-induced oxidation-reduction of cytochrome b_<559> in spinach chloroplasts

The role of photosystem I in the photooxidation-reduction reactions of cytochrome b_<559> was elucidated by studying the effects of electron acceptors and inhibitors of photosystem I on reactions of the cytochrome in spinach chloroplasts. We concluded that the cytochrome is photoreduced through photosystem I and, in the presence of DCMU and ferrocyanide, is photooxidized by photosystem I.
