The distribution of α-tocopherol (α-Toc) stereoisomers in the tissues of rats fed on a diet containing all-rac-α-tocopheryl acetate was investigated by a newly revised HPLC. The concentrations of 2R-isomers of α-Toc in blood and tissues of the rats were significantly higher than those of 2S-isomers. In most tissues, the levels of 2S-isomers were in order SRS>(SSS+ SSR)/2 >SRR.
