Susceptibilities of Sr (Cu_<1-x>Zn_x)_2O_3 Studied by Quantum Monte Carlo Simulation

The effects of non-magnetic impurities randonaly doped into a two-leg Heisenberg spin ladderare investigated. Using the contintrotrs tinae qtrantum IX/Ionte Carlo loop algorithm we calculatethe tzniform and staggered susceptibilities of such a system, The obtained uniforrn susceptibilityis well described in terms of an elective rnodel of weakly interacting local naoments izaduced bynon-magnetic imptrrities for a 1% doping case, bttt not for higher concentrations. The staggeredsusceptibility however is significantly enhanced over that in the effective taaodel already at 1%dopirag. Using a mean field approximation for the interJadder cotzpling, we explain qualitativelythe phase diagram of Sr(Cu) ..ZI1..)203.
