Epitaxial crystals of Basic, w'ith tlae tlaicknesses of (57 A, 230 A, 600 A and 1500 Awere grown on SrTi0. substrates by activated reactive evaporation. The tetragonaalityof the crystal decreases with increasing tlaickness auad reunains in tlte term)>eraturerange of 15 K to 670 K. The epitaxial effect is discussed iua termns of a critical tlaickness,as w'ell as of a surface layer of fine particles.Basic, filun, epitaxial crystal, X-ray diffraction
