Theory of XPS and BIS Spectra in Ce_2O_3 and CeO_2

The spectra of 3d photoemission, valence photoemission and BIS in Ce.0. areanalyzed theoretically by using the filled band Anderson model. The calculated spec-tra are in satisfactory agreement with experimental data by c:hoosing appropriatelythe parameter values in the model. The characteristic features of these spectra are dis-cussed in comparison with those of Ce0., for which some new analysis is also madeto obtain better agreement with experimental results.
