High-Energy Spectroscopy in Oxide Superconductors

We consistently analyze the Cu 2p-XPS, L,-XAS, 3d-XPS and resonant XPS inhigh-7'. superconducting materials, such as (La. .Sr.).Cu0. and YBazCu,O, ,5, onthe basis of the impurity Anderson model. We int?=oduce five valence bands into themodel to take account of the anisotropic nature of the Cu 3d orbitals and the different2p energy levels for nonequivalent 0 sites. The key parameter values whichcharacterize these Cu 3d and 0 2 p states are estinnated from the analysis, and theirtrends are discussed. We study the effect of hole doping on the 2 p-XPS and L,-XAS,especially on the polarization dependence of L,-X/VS. For reference, we also analyzethe spectra of Cub.
