Four Particle-Two Hole Correlations and the Effective Interaction : Two-Level Model for Mass-42 Nuclei

• The multiple scattering formalism combined with the Q-box theory is employed to study all-order 4 particle-2 hole intermediate state contributions to the effective interaction between valence nucleons. A two-level model with a 0f_<7/2> particle orbit and a 0d_<3/2> hole orbit is used to simulate mass-42 nuclei. The p-h interaction is found to have a drastic effect on changing the structure of the effective interaction renormalization. The net contribution in the JT=0^+1 two particle state is most attractive, being twice as large as that in the JT=1^+0 state, which is opposite to the feature of the second-order 4p2h diagram contribution. This qualitative aspect of the all-order 4p2h diagram contribution is promising to improve the up-to-date result of microscopic effective interaction calculations.
