Orbital Magnetization in Quantum Hall Regime

The magnetization due to the orbital motion of electrons in confined two dimensional disorderedsystems strbject to perpendictrlar strong magnetic fields is investigated numerically. The effectsof the edge states and randonaness are disctrssed frona the view point of microscopic currentdistribtrtion. The magnetization as a function of the filling factor is rnodified from that for theirnpurity free case by the fluctuations in the bttlk regiorr, which are of the order of' the effectiveBohr magneton. On the other hand, the contribtttions of the edge states to the rnagnetizationand to the ctrrrent distribution are stable against the randomness.
