• We propose a new reconnection mechanism "chaotic reconnection". The basic mechanism of the chaotic reconnection is examined by means of numerical simulations of collision between the two vortex-current filaments. We conclude the chaotic reconnection is a faster process than the conventional resistaive (non-chaotic) reconnection.
