Covariant Formulation of Interacting Strings with Compactified Dimensions : Particles and Fields

We present a manifestly Lorentz-covariant formulation of interacting closed strings when one space-time coordinate is compactified to a circle. In particular we construct massless vector vertices on the basis of conformal invariance of the theory, and show that the conformal-invariance requirement yields iso-spin degrees of freedom for the vertices and these iso-spin operators satisfy the SU(2)×SU(2) Kac-Moody algebra on the string.
