The Number of Physical States Satisfying Supergauge Conditions in Dual Resonance Models

In the dual resonance models we give generating functions to calculate the number of positive-norm on-shell which are simultaneous eigenstates of the mass-squared operator R and the angular momentum J and satisfy the supergauge conditions. It is found that there are a few missing states and there occurs a saturation of the degeneracy of the states along each trajectory. It is pointed out that all the states on the odd-daughter trajectories in the dual pion model cannot couple to the 2 π-channel, but to the other channels.
