An incidental hepatic pseudolipoma was found in a patient with liver cirrhosis at autopsy. Direct correlation between ultrasonography and histology was examined by using formalin-fixed autopsied liver.<BR>Histologically, the tumor was a degenerated, necrotic and fatty lesion encapsulated by a thick collagenous capsule. Scattered calcium deposits were found in the necrotic fatty tissue. On ultrasonography, the lesion was a hyperechoic nodule with lateral shadowing and some acoustic shadow.<BR>Hepatic pseudolipoma is one of the hyperechoic hepatic nodules, which can be diagnosed qualitatively by ultrasonography, because a good correlation between histological architecture and ultrasonographic image exits for this lesion.
