From "Ban Zhi Lian," whole herb of Scutellaria virularis WALL, two new flavones, I and II, and four known flavones apigenin, baicalein, skullcapflavone I and 5,2',6'-trihydroxy-7,8-dimethoxyflavone, were isolated. I and II were identified as 5,7-dihydroxy-8,2'-dimethoxyflavone and 7-hydroxy-5,8-dimethoxyflavone, respectively, based on spectral and chemical data. Synthesis of II is known in the literature but isolation of II from natural sources has not yet been known before the present work.
