Ninety-five specimens of the characteristic nauplius larvae "nauplius y" of the facetotectan crustaceans, Maxillopoda, were found in the plankton samples, which were obtained by the night subsurface towing off Manazuru, in Sagami Bay. They were clearly distinguished eight types by their patterns of the scales to the cephalic shield. Two types of them are very similar to the types IX (Hansenocaris furcifera) and X described by Ito (1987a, 1990) with some differences, and the exact identification of the rest is reserved, untill further materials are available for study. The nauplii were noted to be present in all months of the research period with collecting peak in August. In addition, most of all nauplii were occurred early in the evening. A literature review of the research of this enigmatic larvae is also conducted.
