The amounts of monosomes plus polysomes in cucumber plant decreased due to Ca^<2+> deficiency. The decrease was more prominent in the membrane-bound forms than free forms. Polysomes in immature leaves and the proportion of large polysomes in roots decreased even at the early stage of Ca^<2+> deficiency.
