Acid Phosphatase in Cotyledons of Germinating Vigna mungo Seeds

A marked increase in acid phosphatase activity took place in cotyledons of germinating Vigna mungo seeds. The attachment of axis organs was not required for this development of enzyme activity in cotyledons. DEAE-cellulose column chromatography revealed that the phosphatase is composed of at least three forms.
