A novel indophenol-reducing and DPPH radicalscavenging compound (1) we isolated from a fungal metabolite. The structure of 1 was determined by a spectroscopic analysis, and the absolute configuration of 1 was determined by the modified Mosher's method. Compound 1 showed slow-reacting DPPH radicalscavenging activity (ED_<50> value of 298 μM after 96 hr).
