Three-dimensional flow and heat transfer in a rectangular miter-bend, with a 90° turn, was studied for the purpose of examining the effect of centrifugal force due to bending, in connection with a corrugated wall channel as a means of augmenting a forced-convection heat transfer with a single-phase flow in a heat exchanger. Analysis of results is reported for the flow in a laminar region with aspect ratio α=1 and Reynolds number R_e=300. Complicated aspects of the flow in terms of velocity vectors, path lines, pressure contours, and wall shear stress contours are shown with detailed examination of flow mechanism.
