The absence of back scattering in carbon nanottubes is shown to Ice arscribed to Berry's phasexvhich corresponds to a sign change of the wttve f'tunction under a spin rotation of a netttrino-likeparticle in a txvo-dimension;cl graphite. Effects of trigonal warping of tlae bands ?rppearing in ahigher order k = p approxirnation are shown to give rise to a snaall probability of back scattering.
