The conductance of single-shell carbon nanotubes is numerically calculated in the effective-massapproxirnation by treating scattering frona impurities exactly. The nuagnetic-field dependence ofthe conductance depends sensitively on the rnean f'ree path, When the mean free path is sufficiently large, undoped metallic nanotubes exhibit a large positive magnetoresistance in agree-unent with the prediction of the Boltzumann transport equation. This positive rnagnetoresistancedisappears when the mean free path becomes comparable to the circumference length,
