Simulations of Anomalous Stimulated Raman Backscattering in a Bounded Plasma

Temporal ptulsations, bursting and incoherence of stimulated Rarnan backscatter in a botrnded,underdense plasrtaa were observed in relativistic jcarticle-in-cell simulations. We show thatbackscatter complexities, modtrlated and broadened spectra, ['ollow a quasi-periodic and inter-rnittent route to ttrrbulence. We attribute a blue shif't to relativistic decrease of'plasma frequency.The btrrsting follows wave breaking, related to hot t?til acceleration and btnlk heating that furthersuppress Rarnan instability. Consistency with short-ptrlse experinaents and sizmtrlations at highuntensities is outlined.
