Ti-Dilution Effect on the Magnetic Properties of Cr_5S_6 with Competing Antiferromagnetic Interactions

Magnetization o, susceptibility 7. and electrical resistivity p are investigated on(Cr. .Ti.),S, (.v30.60). As x increases, T. (the tra?tsition temperature between thehelico-canted antiferromagnetic and the collinear ferrimagnetic states) decreasesmore steeply than as the Curie temperature T.. l'he ferrimagnetic magnetizationdecreases up to a compensation concentration at x : 0.30. It increases as x further in-creases; a revived ferrimagnetic state (RFS) appears. The Curls temperature T( forRFS decreases with x. Immediately below RFS, a reentrant spin-glass like state isfound over the very wide range of x, which shows an anomaly in p. This state exhibitsa spontaneous magnetization in a narrow range of x. One discusses these features onthe view point of the mean field and the local atomic situations, by using the exchangeparameters evaluated from the paramagnetic z through the N<'cl law.magnetic phase diagram, reentrant spin glass, ferrimagnetism, competing an-tiferromagnetic interactions, magnetic susceptibility, (Cr. .Ti.),S., electrical re-sistivity
