Photo-Excited States in Non-Degenerate Conjugated Polymers : A Configuration-Interaction Study

Photo-excited states of conjugated polymers with non-degenerate ground states are theoretically studied in a model that takes into account both electron-lattice and electron-electron interactions. The single configuration interaction method is used to calculate the excited states. We discuss singlet and triplet exciton states, optical absorption spectra, the influence of lattice fluctuations and the lattice relaxation of exciton polarons.
