The dynamics of an electron in a one-dimensional tight-binding model with incom-mensurate sinusoidal modulation (Harper's model) is studied numerically. The widthof a wavepacket of an electron put on a single site at the time l=O exhibits suchasymptotic time evolution as ; - t', where the dynamical index (Y takes onlythree values : (IY = l for V< V., (Y = O for V >V. and (Y : cx. (a value near 1 /2) forV= V., where V is the strength of modulation and V. is the critical value. Thisbehavior is in a striking contrast with that in Fibonacci chains, in which cx can takeany value between 0 and l depending on the modulation strength as shown in ourpreceding paper [J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 57 (1988) 2304.
