Magnetic Properties of (Cr_<1-y>V_y)_<1-δ>Te(δ=0.14)

Thermomaunetic r>rorerties of a solid solution between Crt .sTe (a metallicferromannetic comround) and Vt ,>Te (a Pauli r>aramaretic one) are inves..tigated. The Curie temperature decreases with increasing y, and disappears at atriple point (y=O.79, T=45 K). An extra magnetic phase is found beyond thetriple point, which has the characteristics of spin glass or mictomagnetic states.At the transition temperature from the extra phase to the paramagnetic one, thez vs 7'curve shows a sharp cusp even in a high field (6.3 k0e), The Curie constantCy(y) and the Weiss one 0.(y) are determined by means of a high temperatureextrapolation procedure. Obtained values of C..(y) indicate that the averagemagnetic moment per Cr atom is nearly constant over the whole range of y. Adeviation of 0,(y) from the linear dependence on y is observed.
