Electronic Band Structure and Structural Transformation from NiAs-Type to MnP-Type of CoAs and NiAs

Electronic band structures of CoAs and NiAs are calculated for the non-magneticstate by using a self-consistent augmented-plane-wave method. The energy disper-sions, densities of states, and Fermi surfaces are SIIOWII. Structural transformationsof these compounds from the NiAs-type to the MnP-type are studied on the basis ofthe electronic bands, by calculating electron-lattice matrix elemnents and generalizedelectronic susceptibilities. It is clarified that why the structural transformation fromthe Nips-type to the MnP-type occurs in CoAs but not in Nips.
