Monte Carlo Studies of the Square Lattice Ising System with the Two-Dimensional Dipolar Interaction

Monte Carlo simulations are performed on the square lattice Ising system withboth the nearest neighbor and the two-dimensional dipolar interactions in order to in-vestigate the critical property of ferromagnetic phase transitions in this 2-dimensionalsystem. Applying the finite size scaling theory to Monte Carlo data just near the transi-Lion point, the critical indices of this dipolar sysl-em are calculated andcv=0.31f0.04, /7=0.20f'0.02, )z=1.08f0.20 and v=0.72f0.10 are obtained.However, in the temperatture region considerably far from the transition point,different values of cc, fi and y seem to be adequate, which ;are rather close to those ofthe rigorous result of the 2-dimensional Ising model.[dipole, Ising model, 2-dimensional, critical phenometta, Monte Carlo, long ll range interaction, crosso'ver, critical exponent, phase transitionl
