Pressure Dependence of the Magnetic Interactions in Eu_xYb_<1-x>Alloy

Ac magnetic susceptibility z, magnetization o and electrical resistivity p ofEu,Ybj-. were measured at high pressttre up to l5kbar in the temperaturerange from 1.6 K to 300 K. For x = 0.20, which has two transition points fromparamagnetic to ferromagnetic state, and from ferromagnetic to spin glass likestate, T.=26 K and T.=2.3 K, respectively at ambient pressure, T. decreasesdrastically and T. increases with increasing pressture p, at the rates of AT./Ap=-9.5 K/kbar and AT./,4pz -I-1.7 K/kbar respectively and o at 4.2 K decreasesdrastically with increasing p, while the transition point from paramagnetjc tospin glass like state, T., which appears above p=2.5 kbar is independent on p.From the p data of .X'=0.025 and 0.35, the remarkable transition to semiconductingstate with increasing p is indicated.
