We have measured the giant quantum attenuation of longitudinal sound wavesin antimony in high magnetic fields up to 135 kG, in particular in the situationof simultaneous absorption due to electrons and holes. The sound wave vectorq was applied in parallel to the trigonal axis, and If was in a bisectrjx-trigonalplane. We have found that the attenuation coefficient a(T, f H) is very large andits half width is quite narrow at 0=94' and 97'. Here 0 is the angle between qand H. The temperature dependence and the frequertcy dependence of a(T, f H,)at the peak position H, are also rather anomalous. On the basis of Kuramoto'stheory, these data are analyzed in terms of the correlation effect on ox(T, f H).The result suggests that some modifications of the theory are required to explain allaspects of the present anomalies.
