Gamma Deexcitation Mechanism of Rare-Earth Compound Nuclei Produced by (^3He,xn) and (α,xn) Reactions

Populations of ground state rotational levels following ('He, 377) and (a, '2,n)reactions were studied by measuring gamma rays and conversion electrons forthe xround state rotational transitions. Typical three rare-earth nuclei of "'Sm,"'Er and "'Iff were investigated. Both delayed and prompt feedings of therotational levels were precisely measured. Results are well interpreted in termsof the A-band deexcitation model for the gamma deexcitation process.NUCLEAR REACTIONS "'Nd, ""Dy, "'Yb (ct,2n7) E.=22 MeV"'Dy, "'Yb ('He, 3ny) faue=25 MeV measured I, 7(t) deduced total,delayed feedings "'Sm, "'Er, "'Hf levels.
