Aru intuitive discussion on fe?ttures O['L2.3 X-ray ernission spectra in Fe, Co and Xi and m?xgneticcircular dichroism (MCD), folloxving tlae excitation xvith circtrlarly polarized X-ray, is given frotaaa theoretical side. A weak XICD at off-resonance excit?rtiona atud a strong NICD at 2p377 atad2p) /2 on-resonances, incltrding tlueir signs, are explained in tertaas of the taaagnetic and spinqtranttrna ntrzauber dependerace of the dipole transition ?tzud the syuaatnetry of' occtrpied 3d states.The spectral x'x'eight transfer in flue XIS spectrutn frorn the higher enaaission energy to tlae lowerone and the difl'erence in the extent of transf'er between tlae isotropic and dichroic spectra isexplained by the helicity dependerat Coster-Kronig decay, which does not rnanifest explicitly inIVICD intetasity for X-ray absorption.
