Remarks on the Nonrelativistic El-Transition Formulae in the Quarkonium Model

The E1 formulae in the quarkonium model is examined by using nonrelativistic equation with spin interactions. It is found that the usual assumptionΓ(2^3S_1→γ1^3P_j)∝(2j+1)k_j^3 , where kj is the photon momentum, is inadequate. One should, instead, useΓ(2^3S_1→γ1^3P_j)∝(2j+1)k_j^β with β being a phenomenological parameter to characterize the spin-dependent interaction. The same remark is address-ed also to the other transitions. A more convenient phenomenological parameter which characterizes the spin interactions is also proposed.
