Psychological rehabilitation of severe physical handicapped person using the computer-assisted communication aids.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the psychological changes accompaning with the microcomputer-assisted type writing training. Two quadriplegic cerebral palsied person who had few active behaviour took part in this study. YG personality inventory was examined in order to grasp psychological changes throughout the training. Desirable psychological changes which included three processes were shown in both participants. Firstly, the cyclic tendency and the nervousness decreased in the early phase of the training. Secondly, the depression and the lack of objectivity also decreased gradually throughout the training. The third change which occurred after the aquisition of type writing skill was different in the two participants. One participant showed an increase in introspective and realistic tendency and another one showed an increase in activity and confidence.
