The pressure dependences of the emission intensities at 326.1 and 432 nm in the cadmium-photosensitized reaction of ammonia have been measured. In order to interpret the nonlinear Stern-Volmer plots for the quenching of the 326.1 nm resonance line, the following reactions have to be taken into account in the reaction scheme: Cd*+NH3\rightleftharpoonsCdNH3*V, CdNH3*V+M→CdNH3*+M. The pressure dependence of the emission from the CdNH3* complex (at 432 nm) was also well explained in terms of a reaction scheme involving the above reactions.
