• Methylchlorodisilanes such as 1,2-dimethyl-1,1,2,2-tetrachlorodisilane, 1,1,2-trimethyl-1,2,2-trichlorodisilane and 1,1,2,2-tetramethyl-1,2-dichlorodisilane were effectively cleaved by hydrogen chloride in the presence of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) to give methylchlorohydrosilanes in good yields.
