Surgical Treatment for Benign Bone Tumors and Tumorous Lesions of Femur.

We have investigated 57 bone tumors and tumorous lesions of the femur operated on in our hospital over the past 21 years. We performed resection (curettage) in 23 cases, curettage and bone grafting in 30, curettage and cement package in 3, and wide resection and arthroplasty in 1. The local recurrence rate of these cases was 8.8%. In conclusion, it is important to perform en block resection to prevent local recurrence and it is nessesary to maintain foint function.
