A new oleanane-type triterpene oligoglycoside was isolated from roots of Bupleurum falcatum var. gracillimum collected at Mt. Phulchoki in Nepal along with ten known compounds and their structures were elucidated on the basis of the chemical and spectroscopic studies. The amounts of acetylsaikosaponins, saikosaponin-a and -d in this plant were found to be comparatively higher than those in B.falcatum and B.chinensis. However, saikosaponin-c, one of the major saponins in B.falcatum, was not detected in this plant.
