Screening of Crude Drugs Affecting Antipyrine Concentration in Mouse Plasma

The effect of 35 crude drugs on the antipyrine levels in mouse blood plasma was examined by simultaneous administration (p.o.) of crude drug extracts and antipyrine. A water extract of Panacis Japonici Rhizoma and ethanol extracts of Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, Glycyrrhizae Radix and Ophiopogonis Tuber significantly decreased the concentration of antipyrine in blood, but no crude drug increased it.
