A child with cervical cystic lymphangioma that widely invaded the oral floor, parapharyngeal space and sphenopalatine fossa was treated in our clinic. Postoperative complications were predicted. Therefore, this patient did not undergo surgery, and was treated with a local injection of OK-432 as the first treatment choice. This treatment was remarkably effective in both primary and recurrent therapy and this case has been followed up for 15 years. Our case and other reports suggest that local injection of OK-432 should be indicated in cystic lymphangioma, especially in cases in which it is impossible to achieve total extirpation of the tumor, or in which surgery presents a significant risk.
