Vitellogenin (VTG), choriogenin (Chg) and estrogen reseptor (ER) gene expression driven by estrogen are sensitive biomarkers for assessment of estrogenic effect of chemicals. In this investigation, we performed a basic study to measure these gene expression in medaka (Oryzias latipes) liver using a reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technique. We constructed VTG 1, VTG 2, Chg H, Chg L, ER, β-actin specific primers for RT-PCR, based on the cDNA sequences registered at the Gene Bank. According to the results of RT-PCR, all primers could work and these biomarker genes were amplified by RT-PCR under the same condition. Moreover we could find that VTG1, VTG2, ChgH and ER mRNA induction level of male medaka exposed to Estradiol (E_2) elevated equal to that of female medaka exposed to E_2.
