The light propagation characteristics of linear and curvilinear polystyrene microsphere arrays were studied experimentally and discussed analytically. The attenuation coefficients of 670 nm laser light propagation on the linear and curvilinear arrays for spheres of 10, 5, 2 and 1μm diameters were measured to be 0.51. 0.48. 0.78 and 0.98 dB/sphere and 0.71, 0.67, 1.09 and 1.30 dB/sphere, respectively.
