Rotation speeds of an ultrasonic motor composed of a quartz rectangular parallelepiped cut perpendicular to the X, Y and Z axes were determined as a function of length in the Z-axis direction. It was found that unrotatable quartz becomes rotatable quartz without changing the frequency for the rotation by slightly trimming the length in the Z-axis direction.
