Effects of a Current-Induced Magnetic Field on the Flux Flow in a Foil of a Type II Superconductor

A magnetic field induced by a transport current usually affects the various quantities related to the flux flow such as the depinning current and the differential electric conductivity in a type II supercondutor. In this paper, a foil sample is chosen for the investigation of the above effects on the basis of the time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau equations for an induced field relatively small compared with an applied magnetic field. The results show that the usual phenomenological description of the local pinning force and the local electric conductivity as the functions of the magnetic flux density alone may not be adequate for the flow of curved flux lines.
